If you have been holding out for the BlackBerry Priv for some time, but have not quite taken the leap of faith just yet because of financial constraints, things might be looking up for you as John Chen mentioned some time last week that the BlackBerry Priv will be on the receiving end of a price cut this coming February. This is definitely good news, especially since the $699 price tag can be rather high for many.
John Chen commented on the price cut after responding to a question posed by RBC Capital Markets analyst Paul Treiber concerning the pricing and margins that are expected from the BlackBerry Priv throughout its life cycle. Hence, those who can hold out for the BlackBerry Priv until this February will benefit from the price cut, especially since the announcement is expected to take place some time during the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona that will happen from February 22nd to February 25th.
Hence, patience is once again the way to go when it comes to picking up the BlackBerry Priv, and for the early birds who have been enjoying the Android-powered slider smartphone since it was released, well, at least you got to enjoy first mover advantage.
