Huawei Mate 8 Hits The FCC

You know for sure that a particular device will be really, really close to an official release when it has hit the FCC, and gained the regulatory body’s approval along the way. The Huawei Mate 8 happens to be one of those handsets, where it was announced in November this year, targeting the the Chinese market while accompanied by promises of additional details being revealed at CES 2016 – which is not too far away, of course. Well, it seems that the Huawei Mate 8 has already picked up its FCC certification, which means it should hit the US market not too far down the road.

The FCC documents do not provide too much detail concerning the smartphone’s hardware, other than the model number NXT-L09, although the hardware specifications can be expected to match what has been announced for the China-only model.

So far, revealed hardware specifications for the China model includes a Kirin 950 SoC that has a quartet of Cortex-A72 cores clocked at up to 2.3GHz, another four power-saving Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz, accompanied by a Mali T880MP4 GPU, a 6” FHD IPS display, 3GB of RAM,32GB of internal memory, and up to 128GB with 4GB of RAM in another variant. A 16MP camera at the back will complement the 8MP shooter in front, while there will be a 4000mAh battery powering it.
