For those who haven’t been following the news, the HTC Vive is a virtual reality headset built by HTC and Valve. For the most part the HTC Vive’s logo has been somewhat “boring” in the sense that it’s basically just the word “Vive”, however it seems that over in Taipei, Taiwan, HTC might have recently unveiled the headset’s new logo.
This is thanks to the folks at Saydigi.com who have managed to get a photo of the logo at the event. The logo does have a certain Valve feel to it, but not surprising given that Valve did help out with the development of the headset. Unfortunately the HTC Vive website has not been updated with the new logo and we’re not sure when it will be, so we can’t say for sure if the logo spotted is the new logo or just one used for promotional purposes.
In terms of availability, HTC has announced that the headset will only be arriving in April 2016. This is something of a delay as the headset was rumored for an earlier rollout, but we suppose better late than never. We’re also hoping that it won’t end up like the HTC Grip which was also announced earlier this year but due to delays, has also been pushed to 2016. Pricing of the headset has not been confirmed either so we guess we’ll just have to wait until next year to find out.
