Hello Kitty is definitely a cute character, being a cat with no mouth, while the other famous robotic cat, Doraemon, happens to be a kitty with no ears. Having said that, both of them have their fair share of fans, but this time around it would be Hello Kitty who is on the receiving end of something negative – as Hello Kitty was hacked over the weekend.
News concerning SanrioTown’s hack was released on Saturday, where a public statement was issued by the company only earlier today. It was shared that “The alleged security breach of the SanrioTown site is currently under investigation. Information will be made available once confirmed.”
As part of a warning to users, one of SanrioTown’s most recent Facebook post happens to be a cartoon drawing of soft, pastel bunnies in baker’s hats. The post made mention to 1.4 million Facebook followers on SanrioTown that “Life is all about taking risks. If you never take risks, then you’ll never know what you’re capable of.” This means any or perhaps (but not likely) all of SanrioTown’s 1.4 million followers could have been a victim of the latest hack. Hacking with a negative slant has started to be a damper this Christmas season, with Steam and Minecraft takedowns being threatened.
