There’s a robust community out there that keeps a keen eye on the Steam Database to find out what new titles will be coming soon. Steam IDs and associated app names can often reveal valuable information about titles that might be released in the near future, you can imagine the delight of fans when they found out that Half-Life 3 has been listed in the Steam Database.
It does merit mentioning here that while Steam listings are often a good indicator of what’s to come in the future, they’re not always on point, which means that for all we know this listing might not materialize into the Half-Life 3 game that fans have been waiting for so long.
There has been no confirmation as yet by Valve that a new Half-Life title is on the horizon, so we’ll keep waiting for that confirmation, while bearing in mind the fact that it’s not exactly hard for developers to rename their app in whatever way they like, this may very well be some developer playing a very cruel prank of those who just can’t wait for Half-Life 3 to arrive.
Keep that possibility to one side for a moment and consider the fact that the database has also revealed titles like Final Fantasy VI, Journey, Everybody’s Gone to Rapture, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and many others for PC, though it’s not clear at this point in time when any of these titles are going to be released via Steam.
