Send Money Via Google Wallet With Just A Phone Number

With Android Pay having been launched, Google Wallet is no longer an app/service that lets you pay for goods. Instead it has become an app in which users will be able to send money to each other, so for example if you wanted to pay a friend back for dinner the other night, or if you’re buying something online and meeting the seller in person, Google Wallet can facilitate those payments.

That being said for the most part it usually requires both users to have the app. However what if the person does not have the app, or does not have the app installed right now? The good news is that Google has announced a new way to send money easily via Google Wallet which is through a phone number.

Basically you choose the person you want to send the money too via their phone number, and Google will then send them a text message with a secure link. From the comfort of their home or when they are free, then can then visit the link and enter the details of their debit card and the money will be transferred to their bank account within minutes.

The updated Google Wallet should already be available in the Google Play Store or the iTunes App Store so head on over to get the update if you haven’t done so already. In the meantime aside from this new feature, Google has also introduced a handful of other features and improvements.
