Evolution in the smartphone world is not strange at all, but rather, it is a given. Gionee has long been famous for their long lasting smartphones in terms of battery life, and in order to continue from where the Marathon M4 left off, here we are with a couple of new handsets that have been introduced – the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus and the Marathon M5 Enjoy.
Having launched in China, these two handsets intend to handle a particularly sour note which plagued the original Marathon M5 – the lack of a fingerprint sensor. The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus might be a mid-range smartphone, but it lies on the high end side of things, where it has a Mediatek MT6753 chipset with an octa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, a 6” Full HD AMOLED display and a 5,020mAh battery.
As for the Gionee Marathon M5 Enjoy, this will share similar hardware specifications as that of the original Gionee Marathon M5, except that it will come with a 5.5” 720p TFT display, a 5,000mAh power pack, and an 8MP camera as opposed to a 13MP shooter. Other than that, the Mediatek MT6735 chipset with a quad-core CPU will run the show, accompanied by 3GB of RAM and Android 5.1 Lollipop.
