There are various smartwatches and fitness trackers available out there, but if you love the Samsung Gear S2 but were a bit bummed that there isn’t support for iOS, it seems that you might not have to remain disappointed for much longer. According to a report from SamMobile, they claim to have confirmed with their source that iOS support will be coming soon.
This will come in the form of the Gear Manager app for iOS, which apparently is something that Samsung is working on. For those unfamiliar, Gear Manager is the app that will allow users to control and sync their smartphones with the smartwatch. Unfortunately their source did not mention as to when we might be able to expect the upcoming app, but hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.
The Samsung Gear S2 was launched earlier this year and unlike a lot of smartwatches out there, the Gear S2 is not powered by Android Wear, but rather it is powered by Samsung’s Tizen operating system. This also means that in terms of app variety, it probably won’t be as much compared to Android Wear.
However if the features of the watch are already good enough for you, then perhaps the Gear S2 with iOS support might be something to look forward to. In the meantime we will keep our eyes peeled for more information regarding the Gear Manager app’s release on iOS.
