So much so that he is apparently suing Bethesda for $7,000 in compensation after he claims a 3-week binge led to his current situation, on the basis that Bethesda should have apparently warned that the game would be this addictive. He also claims that if he had known, he would have played more reasonably.
According to the 28-year old, “If I knew that this game could have become so addictive, I would have become a lot more wary of it. I would not have bought it, or I would have left it until I was on holiday or until the New Year holidays.” The lawsuit is currently being brought up in Russia where it is the first of its kind, at least in the country.
The law firm that is representing the gamer plans to see how far they are able to take this case. This isn’t the first time that developers have been sued over how addictive their games are. Back in 2010, a man from Hawaii sued the developers behind Lineage II where the judge ultimately ruled in his favor, seeing NCsoft paying the man his legal fees that he had accumulated over the course of the lawsuit.
