Surprise! HBO’s Game Of Thrones Is The Most Pirated TV Show Of 2015

Let’s face it, no one likes having to pay for stuff and if we can get away with getting something for free, why not, right? Turns out there are plenty of Game of Throne fans around the world who feel the same because according to the numbers, it seems that HBO’s TV show has managed to become the most pirated TV show of 2015.

This hardly comes as a surprise especially when you consider that this is actually the fourth year that Game of Thrones has walked away with that honor. According to the numbers, the show has been downloaded a whopping 14.4 million times. Piracy and Game of Thrones seem to go hand-in-hand and with the story and plots getting more interesting, it’s unlikely that the train will be slowing down anytime soon.

That being said, HBO has been attempting to crack down on Game of Thrones pirates and have also attempted to put an end to unauthorized viewing parties, something that they’re well within their right to do but safe to say that it probably did not sit too well with fans, some of whom simply gathered to enjoy the show together as opposed to being actual pirates.

That being said, the sixth season of Game of Thrones is expected to return in April 2016 and with the way Season 5 ended, we can only imagine that the first episode of Season 6 will rake in much, much higher numbers than ever. What’s more interesting is the fact that Season 6 will be the first season that actually does not follow the books.
