In the past Samsung has released several “mini” variants of its flagship smartphones. They basically have the same design language as the flagship device, such as the Galaxy S5, but the mini variant has mid-range specifications. Many have been waiting for the company to release the Galaxy S6 mini but it hasn’t so far. It has now been listed on an online retailer’s website and has once again provided hope that this handset might be on the way.
UAE-based online retailer LetsTango has listed the Galaxy S6 mini on its website and the listing also reveals some specifications, apparently the handset has a hexa-core 1.8GHz processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage aside from a 4.6 inch Super AMOLED display.
A 15 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera are also mentioned alongside a non-removable battery with the capacity not being quoted. The Galaxy S6 mini is said to run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and is also said to include a fingerprint sensor.
The retailer’s listing mentions that this handset is not available for purchase right now but interested customers can submit their email to be notified when it becomes available for purchase.
Samsung has not yet confirmed or denied if it’s going to release this particular handset. It would be quite late to release the Galaxy S6 mini now considering the fact that the Galaxy S7 is expected in three months from now, and once that handset arrives all people will be concerned with then would be the new flagship’s mini variant.
