The Fujifilm X100T is probably one of the better compact cameras around and has been praised very highly in numerous reviews. Unfortunately it is also rather pricey as far as compacts are concerned which means that unless you’re a serious photographer looking for a secondary camera, or you just have some cash to spare, there are cheaper alternatives out there.
The good news is that Fujifilm could have such an alternative in the works. According to a recent sighting by Fuji Rumors, it seems that the Fujifilm X70 has been registered over in China. Unfortunately at this point in time not much is known about the X70, but this camera has been rumored about for the past couple of years already.
In fact earlier this year we had heard rumors about the camera and how it is expected to be a cheaper version of the X100 series. One of the ways Fujifilm will be cutting down on costs is by removing the electronic viewfinder from the camera. We’re not sure if this will be replaced by a traditional viewfinder or if photographers will only have the LCD screen to work with.
Also apart from that we’re not sure what kind of specs we can expect either. In any case take it with a grain of salt but with CES and CP+ coming up in the next month or so, hopefully we will have more details about the alleged Fujifilm X70 by then.
