Meizu’s Flyme OS happens to be a skin that runs on top of the Android mobile operating system, and Flyme 5 happens to be the most recent version to have rolled out – and Flyme 5 can be found on the Meizu Pro 5 and the Meizu MX5. As for the rest of the folks out there who happen to own some other Meizu handsets and are wondering whether you will be able to get a taste of Flyme 5, here is some good news – there is hope yet.
Apparently, a beta version of Flyme 5 will be made available tomorrow for the MX4 and MX4 Pro, in addition to the m1 note. The beta, unfortunately, is unavailable via the Over The Air (OTA) software update, which means you will need to download it from Meizu themselves – and perform a manual installation.
It is touted that the final build of Flyme 5 for this trio of devices will be released in the form of an OTA update before Chinese New Year happens next year, and it remains to be seen just whether Flyme 5 will arrive on other handsets or not – and if so, when. Also, one ought to always remember that a new version of Flyme does not translate to a new version of Android, it is just the skin that is different.
