Many hail Elon Musk as a visionary who is shaping a big chunk of our future, be it luxurious all electric cars or private space travel, or even high speed public transport. The man has made quite a name of himself and when he talks, people listen. Musk has made no secret of the fact that he would like humans to establish a post on a planet other than Earth, his sights are set firmly on Mars, but he worries that another World War at home could upset his plans of moving people to the Red Planet.

Musk has already detailed his plans of kickstarting climate change on Mars in a bid to make conditions on the planet more suitable for human life, his plan includes dropping nuclear bombs on Mars.

In a new interview with GQ which covered his various projects like Hyperloop, space suits, Tesla and going over to Mars, he expresses some worry about the possibility that the world might find itself in a big conflict which could ultimately hamper plans to put humans on Mars.

“I don’t think we can discount the possibility of a third World War,” pointing out that in 1912 they were proclaiming a new age of peace and prosperity, that it was a golden age since the war was over. Then came the first World War which was followed by the second and also the Cold War.

“So I think we need to acknowledge that there’s certainly a possibility of a third World War, and if that does occur it could be far worse than anything that’s happened before,” he said.
