The iPhone, like most smartphones, packs a huge display and can do a ton of things, like counting your steps, playing music, surfing the web, doing work, and etc. However could it be getting a little too distracting where it could actually hamper our social lives? Thanks to Martin Hajek, he has come up with a dumb iPhone concept.
In his design which was made for Curved, it shows off an iPhone that seems to have combined parts of iOS with a feature phone that has been shaped to look a bit like the new Apple TV remote. The end result is a phone that looks very simple and straightforward, but yet still manages to exude some kind of elegance in its design.
Also if you notice, the phone lacks many features that one would come to expect from a phone these days, such as a camera, a lack of internet connection, and there will be zero apps, or at least no additional apps that users can download. The idea is that it is a phone that does what a phone does – send messages and make calls, nothing more, nothing less.
Of course this is just a concept but it is an interesting one. In fact in the past we have seen similar dumb phones created where the idea is to allow us to focus on what’s in front of us, not on our screens. That being said while such a device might not be practical in today’s connected world, having a home phone designed similarly would not be such a bad idea either.
