If you are unfamiliar with Microsoft’s Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile operating system, it comes with its own voice assistant software called Cortana. For the most part Cortana does what other voice assistants like Siri and Google Now can do, but launching websites directly was not really its strong suit.
Prior to this, Cortana would have to pin websites to the start screen, or in early builds of Windows 10 Mobile, users would have to select from a search list. However the good news is that Microsoft appears to have made some changes under the hood that will now allow Cortana to launch websites directly, according to a report from WMPoweruser.
However note that this feature only works on certain websites, such as Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Pizza Hut, and Wikipedia. If you own a Windows 10 Mobile device, all you’d have to do is open Cortana and say the website’s name and it should respond by saying, “I’m pulling up ”.
Like we said only a few websites work with this feature for now, but it is possible that eventually Microsoft will expand the feature to include more websites in the future. There has not been any official announcement by Microsoft either so perhaps this is a feature that they are currently testing out, but either way if you have a Windows 10 Mobile device, go ahead and give it a try.
