Canon has produced several high-end cameras in the past and if you’re a professional photographer who is looking to get their hands on a possible new high-end model from Canon, come early 2016 your wish could come true. This is according to the folks at Canon Rumors who has heard that the EOS 1D MK II could arrive in 2016.
While they cannot confirm the rumors, Canon Rumors has learnt from their sources that a Canon EOS 1D MK II could be announced as early as January 2016. Apparently this is because Canon has a significant DSLR announcement to make, and while an EOS 80D is a possibility, they feel that the EOS 1D MK II would be a much more significant announcement.
This isn’t the first time that we have heard rumors of the 1D X’s successor. Towards the end of 2014, there were rumors that we might be treated to an announcement at CES/CP+ in early 2015, but safe to say that those rumors kind of fell short. It is possible that these rumors might fall short too, but there is always the off-chance that it could come true.
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but either way with CES and CP+ taking place early 2016, we’re pretty sure some major announcements will be made, but whether or not it will result in the EOS 1D MK II remains to be seen.
