Recently Boost Mobile has announced that they will be launching unlimited music streaming plans. Basically these plans will allow users to stream music all they want without it eating into their data. For example if your plan only comes with 500MB of data, unlimited music streaming means that you can stream all the music you want and it will not count towards that 500MB.
However there is a catch and that catch is that it will only work the partners that Boost Mobile has chosen. Right now the carrier is only offering five different partners which includes 8tracks, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Samsung Milk Music, and Slacker Radio. This means that if you were to stream from Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music, or Google Play Music, that will definitely eat into your data plan.
This unlimited music streaming feature of Boost Mobile follows in the footsteps of T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and Virgin Mobile USA (also a Sprint subsidiary), although in T-Mobile and MetroPCS’ case they do offer up partnerships with some of the more mainstream names when it comes to music streaming.
