Apple Gives Beats Music Subscribers A Grace Period

As you might have heard, Apple Music is Apple’s new music streaming platform which means that when they acquired Beats, Beats Music was pretty much made redundant. Signups are already closed and in case you didn’t know, Beats Music actually shut its doors earlier this week on the 30th of November.

However it seems that Apple is giving Beats Music subscribers a grace period. No, this does not mean that they get to continue using the service, but rather Apple will be holding onto the playlists and music preferences until the 19th of January. This means that if you were to decide to use Apple Music, your playlists and preferences will be transferred over to help ease you into the new service.

Emails have been sent out to Beats Music subscribers which reads, “Your music is here. Come and get it. Beats Music may be gone, but we’re holding on to your playlists and music preferences until January 19.” If you are a subscriber you should have received the email as well so check your inbox for the details.

Apple Music will offer listeners free 3-months worth of listening before they are required to pay $9.99 a month. If you’re not a fan of paying for music streaming, then alternatives such as Spotify do offer free listening tiers.
