Waterproof jackets aren’t new, but sometimes there are some situations in which water will get into your jacket, and usually most jackets do not have waterproof inner lining. This means that you’ll either have to take the jacket off or suffer being stuck inside a wet jacket for the rest of the day, or do you?
There is a Kickstarter project for a jacket called the SDJ-01. As you can see in the video above, it looks very familiar and this is because the jacket was inspired by Marty McFly’s jacket from Back to the Future, albeit a bit more hi-tech. The jacket comes with a waterproof outer layer, but it has built-in vents inside the jacket that can help dry the inner parts should it get wet.
The built-in fan will help dry the jacket and is powered by a small battery, meaning that you can dry yourself while on the go. Alternatively if you’re starting to feel hot, the fans should be able to cool you down somewhat, although this kind of begs the question as to why you would wear a jacket when you’re hot to begin with.
Other features of the jacket include a variety of pockets, even pockets designed to hold tablets and smartphones. If this sounds like a jacket you’d like to own, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
