Many people use Sonos speakers for their audio setups, the company does make some good audio products, which are also capable of streaming music from online services. It can already stream music from the likes of Google Play Music, Spotify and Tidal however one major service was missing from the list. It has been known for a while that Apple Music will eventually arrive on Sonos and today it finally has.
Earlier this year Sonos promised that it will add support for Apple Music by the end of 2015, it confirmed in November that support will arrive on December 15th, and today it has.
For now though the support has landed in beta form, the company has previously cleared up that this is a beta or early preview of Apple Music support, and also an opportunity for users to shape the experience of learning to Apple Music on Sonos in their home.
Sonos will provide access to Apple Music’s four sections namely: For You, My Music, Radio and New. It’s interesting to note that the service’s social feed is absent on Sonos right now but perhaps it might be added in the near future.
Users can now configure the service on their accounts, first download the latest update to the Sonos Controller app, then open the app’s sidebar menu and tap on Add Music Services to add Apple Music which is listed under the Beta tag.
