Earlier this year Microsoft unveiled the Elite controller for the Xbox One console. The controller costs $150 which safe to say is much more expensive than the standard wireless controller which is priced at $60, meaning that this controller is probably being aimed more towards the hardcore gamer than the casual one.
However it looks like despite its price tag, Microsoft has been seeing a lot of interest in the controller, so much so that the company has since warned customers that the controller will be in short supply for the month of November. In a statement a Microsoft rep made to Polygon, “We expect more units to arrive at retailers each week but supply may be limited through November.”
This confirms an earlier statement Microsoft made to GamesBeat earlier when they told them that the company is hoping to replenish inventory in time for the holidays. What this means is that if you are still deciding whether dropping $150 on a gaming controller is worth the money, you should probably do so quickly otherwise it might be hard to find some in stock this month.
If you are thinking about giving it to someone as a gift, you should probably hurry too. Alternatively Microsoft points out that customers can purchase the Xbox One Elite bundle which is basically an Xbox One console with an Elite controller tossed into the mix. It will be priced at $499 which is $100 more expensive than the regular Xbox One, but it does have the controller inside of it.
