According to the report, it seems that some users have found that Microsoft had attempted to secretly install Windows 10 on the computers of Windows 7 and 8 users without them knowing or without their consent. This was discovered when the Windows Update log was pulled up and there were multiple errors in the attempts to install Windows 10.
Microsoft has admitted this has happened but they have attributed it to a bug from an automatic update that the company had rolled out to users back in August. According to them, there was a bug that triggered the attempted installations, but Microsoft claims that this has since been fixed, which the folks at Forbes have since confirmed.
This is not the first time we have seen Microsoft claim it was a bug that prompted installations. Last month there was a glitch that would have installed Windows 10 on computers if users weren’t quick enough to notice. The company has also been getting pretty aggressive with the upgrade notifications and last we heard, Microsoft plans on making Windows 10 a “Recommended Update” in 2016.
