There are plenty of decent cheap Android smartphones that cost about $100 and have specifications that are good enough for casual use, aside from texting and making calls. Mozilla is trying to make Firefox OS popular in the market by introducing handsets that cost as low as $25 but Walmart’s latest option for the budget conscious beats even that. The retailer is selling a $10 Android phone that has respectable specifications.

It’s selling two variants of the same smartphone, the LG Sunrise L15G and LG Lucky L16G, these are GSM and CDMA variants respectively, of a TracFone prepaid smartphone that only costs $10.

The handset features a 3.8 inch 480×320 LCD display with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quadcore processor under the hood. It even has a 3 megapixel rear camera, 4GB of onboard storage with up to 1.15GB of usable space and a 1,540mAh battery.

RAM has been listed on the specs sheet though obviously you can’t expect it have a lot of it, however the device does come with a 4GB microSD card for external memory expansion as well as Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi b,g,n. It doesn’t have a front facing camera or 4G LTE support though, then again, what more do you want in $10?

It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with access to Google Play Store for installing apps, not too shabby for a prepaid disposable smartphone that costs less than what you paid for dinner yesterday.
