Verizon To Introduce $20 Activation Fee Starting November 15

As some might have heard, come 15th of November Verizon will be raising the price of its unlimited plans by $20. We’re sure that many customers can’t be too thrilled by this as this basically amounts to an extra $240 a year that they will be spending. However it seems that’s not all Verizon is doing.

According to a report from Droid-Life, it seems like the carrier will also be introducing a $20 activation fee on device payment plans. If you were to take a look at the carrier’s website right now, you will notice that they do not charge an activation fee. In fact the carrier writes it as $0.00 and claims that they are waiving the fee for its customers.

Other carriers do, so we guess waived fees is one way for Verizon to attract new customers on board. However the report claims that will no longer be the case as come November 15, a $20 activation fee on device payment plans will be charged. This means that whatever you’re expected to pay over the course of the next 24 months, add an extra $20 on top of that.

We suppose $20 might not seem like that much since it is a one time payment, but for customers who aren’t too pleased with the upcoming price hikes, this might push them to other carriers. If you are on Verizon and are considering a new device, you have a few more days to get it before the new $20 activation fee is introduced.
