Many fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise had been waiting for the new title to arrive, most of them are also looking forward to the movie that’s currently in the pipeline. Ubisoft is getting an Assassin’s Creed movie made, it’s going to take some inspiration from Batman Begins and Blade Runner, with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot saying today that the movie is “extremely promising.”
He made these comments during the company’s quarterly earnings call with investors and analysts, Guillemot didn’t go into much detail about the upcoming motion picture, only saying that “Shooting of the Assassin’s Creed Movie is well underway, and it’s extremely promising.”
Fans will appreciate that filming continues without any major issues, Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean Julien Baronnet had previously revealed in an interview that the movie is difficult to make because it involves two different time periods with parallel stories that meet up later on as the movie progresses.
It’s structurally complicated as the movie has to properly tell the story of modern day hero Callum and his ancestor Aguilar to set the stage for when the stories meet up later. He had also revealed that they’re spending quite a bit of money on this movie, about $200 million, and expect that it will be ready to hit the big screen in 2016. A timeframe for release has not yet been confirmed by Ubisoft.
