Time Warner Cable Kicks Off Roku TV Beta Service

It looks like if you absolutely love the wireless lifestyle and happen to live in New York City, then there is a new option to stream live TV thanks to Time Warner Cable’s effort in kicking off its Roku TV beta service today. This unique Roku TV beta service will be able to offer Internet-only customers to stream live television through a Roku 3 player, and beta testers will be provided with the Roku 3 that will see off the cable box which one would normally receive as a standard for any other Time Warner Cable cable plan.

The Roku 3 will make use of the TWC app where streaming TV is concerned, and one will have the choice of one of three packages that one will be able to add to their existing Internet-only plans. “Starter TV” is the most basic plan that will feature channels such as ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and more than 20 others, while “Starter TV” is $10 monthly when you decide on a 1 year contract, whereas “Starter TV” with Showtime and Starz will be $20 each month. For those who want nothing but the most comprehensive plan, then it will cost you $50 monthly that boasts of more than 70 channels with Showtime and Starz included.

This clearly targets those who have completely turned their hearts over to Internet-only packages, so it will be interesting to see how things develop from here.
