A couple of days ago, TAG Heuer officially unveiled its first smartwatch, the TAG Heuer Connected. While the watch itself looks like a regular watch, it is a smartwatch with Android Wear so at the end of the day, you could still fool people into thinking that it is a traditional, mechanical timepiece.
However it does come with a rather hefty price tag of $1,500, something that we’re sure many of you guys won’t spend your money on. The good news is that the folks at Droid-Life have recently gotten their hands on it and have put together a rather detailed unboxing video, giving us a tour of what we can expect from the packaging as well as a tour of the watch itself.
For those unfamiliar with the TAG Heuer Connected, this is the watchmaker’s first smartwatch. One of the reasons it is so expensive is for starters it does have the TAG Heuer brand attached to it. It also features a body made out of titanium, thus making it durable but light at the same time.
Now we know that $1,500 is a lot to ask for, but the good news is that if you’ve always wanted a TAG Heuer but couldn’t afford it, the Connected acts like a downpayment of sorts. The company has confirmed that after 2 years, TAG Heuer will allow customers to trade-in their Connected for a regular TAG Heuer watch. In any case if you have a few minutes to spare, check out the unboxing video above.
