As many StarCraft 2 gamers know by now, Legacy of the Void will be the game’s last expansion as far as the ongoing story is concerned. We know that some gamers are understandably bummed given how the story of the StarCraft franchise has lasted over the course of two games and several expansions, but fret not because Blizzard still has plans for the game.
The company has announced the StarCraft 2 Nova Covert Ops DLC. Basically this DLC will feature the Nova character, who for those unfamiliar was supposed to be the main character in Blizzard’s StarCraft Ghost console game until they decided to can the project. Nova is also a playable character in Heroes of the Storm.
That being said, so what is the Nova Covert Ops DLC about? Basically from what we can tell, these are a series of missions for StarCraft 2 that will be based around Nova. We’re not sure if this has anything to do with the main storyline of StarCraft 2 or if it will be completely separate. The DLC is expected to be released in the Spring of 2016 but no word on pricing just yet.
Like we said, Legacy of the Void will conclude the ongoing StarCraft storyline. Naturally Blizzard has plans for the future of the StarCraft franchise so maybe Nova Covert Ops might give us a glimpse into that future. In the meantime Legacy of the Void has been pegged for the 10th of November release so if you haven’t bought the game or preloaded it, perhaps you should go ahead and do so.
