If you’ve been looking to purchase a smartwatch from AT&T then you’ll want to pay attention, the carrier has just confirmed that it will start selling the Samsung Gear S2 and LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE smartphones later this week. These are the latest wearable devices from both Samsung and LG, naturally there will be many out there waiting to get their hands on one.
The carrier has also confirmed that these are going to be the first two smartwatches that are scheduled to support AT&T NumberSync, the feature that’s going to allow users to share one mobile number across multiple devices including cellular-enabled smartwatches.
NumberSync will enable users to make and receive calls, send and receive texts from the same number that they use on their smartphone thus they don’t need a separate number and their friends and family don’t have to deal with a new number that they don’t recognize. NumberSync will be available to no additional cost to the Gear S2 and later on to the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE early next year.
Pre-orders for the Gear S2 being November 6th, customers can purchase it for $0 down and $15 per month for 20 months. It will also be sold for $199.99 with a two year contract. Gear S2 will be available from the carrier’s stores starting November 20th.
LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE pre-orders begin on the same day, it will be available from the carrier’s stores starting November 13th for $0 down and $15 per month for 20 months or for $199.99 with a conventional two year service contract. Customers can add both smartwatches to a new or existing Mobile Share Value Plan for an additional $10 per month.
