Pushbullet emerged on the scene about two years ago and it quickly became a popular service that lots of people used to transfer files to and from a smartphone to a computer, it was also used for cross-platform messaging and syncing with PCs. If you had ever wondered how the team behind it would make any money off of it then you’re getting the answer today as they’ve now launched Pushbullet Pro which puts some previously free features behind the paywall.
Those who are interested in the Pro version can sign up for $4.99 per month or get an yearly subscription at a discounted rate of $40 per annum. Those who sign up right now will not be charged until December 1st and those who buy an yearly subscription will be able to cancel it at any time and get a prorated refund.
Features like universal copy & paste and SMS on your computer were previously available in the free version but you now need the Pro version to access them, as well as to access mirrored notification action support. Pushbullet says that these are features “worth paying for” and that’s why it has chosen to launch optional paid accounts to help pay the bills.
A free version of Pushbullet will continue to be available even though it won’t have as many features as before, at least those who don’t want to pay for the Pro version will get something out of Pushbullet. You can sign up for Pushbullet Pro via its website.
