It looks like those who own the new Volvo XC90 will be pleased to know that the new generation Polestar Performance Optimisation has been made available for that particular ride, which would make what is already a very safe car all the more dynamic and responsive to drive. This is a good thing for drivers, although I suppose it might make one a wee bit more careless, thinking that the car can compensate for the driver’s shortcomings in some of the more extreme situations. Then again, I might be wrong in this aspect.
Niels Möller, COO of Polestar, the Volvo Cars Performance Brand, shared, “The new XC90 is by far the most advanced car from Volvo in terms of chassis and drivetrain, making it a thrill for us to work with. The Polestar optimisation takes the dynamics and responsiveness of the XC90 another step forward from an already high base level.”.
The main philosophy drives (pardon the pun) the new generation optimization for the whole drivetrain to be included, which results in optimized engine performance, throttle response, gearshift speed, gearshift precision and off-throttle response. As for the Volvo XC90 models that will come with Polestar optimization, those happen to be the T6 and D5, although the buck does not stop there as there are future optimizations that are set to arrive in due time. All modifications of the Polestar optimizations are accompanied by certified emissions, fuel consumption, service intervals and Volvo warranties unchanged for that added peace of mind.
