In a rather interesting move Sony today announced that its online TV streaming service, PlayStation Vue, is launching on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick today, it even confirmed that support for Chromecast will also be added real soon. This will be great to increase the adoption of Sony’s internet TV streaming service which only recently inked a deal that brings a plethora of channels to the service.
PlayStation Vue is now available on a total of seven devices which includes the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles, iPhone and iPad, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick with Chromecast getting support in the near future as well.
You’ll be able to sign into the service using your existing PlayStation Vue account, if you don’t have one, you can make one through the PlayStation Vue website or through the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4. Several free trial options are offered to new subscribers.
All four major TV networks are available on PlayStation Vue, hence the higher price as compared to competing services, however multi-channel packages are limited to markets which include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco Bay Area, and Miami.
Prices for PlayStation Vue’s Core and Elite packages have been trimmed ahead of the holiday season, the packages are now available for $54.99 and $65.99 respectively, both have received a $5 discount, current subscribers will get the new pricing in their next billing cycle.
