As many gamers have heard by now, Overwatch is Blizzard’s latest franchise and will also essentially be the company’s first FPS game. So far initial reviews of the game’s beta have been largely positive, and the good news is that the game will be released soon, in the Spring of 2016 to be more specific and has also been confirmed that it will be arriving on consoles.
Now if you like what you’ve seen in the various videos, you might be interested to learn that Blizzard is currently taking pre-orders for the game. The game is priced at $60 for the digital version of the game and it seems that for now there is only one version, versus Blizzard’s other games in which there is sometimes a digital deluxe edition.
The goodies will also flow over to other Blizzard games. For example in Diablo 3, players will get the Mercy Wings aesthetics. StarCraft 2 gamers can look forward to new player portraits. Hearthstone gamers will get a special Overwatch card back. World of Warcraft players will receive a free baby Winston pet, and for Heroes of the Storm (and possibly the coolest giveaway) is the Tracer hero.
As you might have heard, Blizzard did promise that Overwatch characters would eventually arrive for Heroes of the Storm, and it looks like Tracer will be the first hero to do so. Blizzard has also announced a Collector’s Edition for physical copies of the game which will come with the game and the features mentioned above, along with a full-color art book, the Overwatch soundtrack, and a high-quality collectible statue of Soldier: 76.
