All of this is done to help earn the developers and publishers more money beyond what the initial purchase of the game. However it seems that in the upcoming new Need for Speed title, there will be zero microtransactions and this has since been confirmed by Craig Sullivan, the creative director at Ghost Games who was recently interviewed by the folks at Vice.
In an article about what the company was doing differently about the game, one of those differences was the fact that the game would have zero microtransactions. In today’s day and age that’s quite unheard of. According to Sullivan, “All I can say is, honestly, hand on heart, is there are absolutely no plans to charge for content in this game. We’re going to give you everything for free.”
Sullivan notes that one can never say never as who knows what the future holds 10 years from now, but for now and for the foreseeable future as far as the new Need for Speed title is concerned, you guys won’t have to worry about microtransactions for a while.
