Then there are water cooling options with lights, fans with lights, cable sleeves, and etc. Basically all done in the name of aesthetics. Then you also have cases designed to show off the innards of your computer, which is kind of why there exists so many “showy” components to begin with. That being said if you are after aesthetics, you might be interested in the MSI Z170A SLI Plus motherboard.
As you can see in the photo above, the looks of the motherboard clearly shows that this is not your standard motherboard. It is a special all-black model, which we have to admit looks very sleek and stealthy. In terms of features, it comes with four DDR4 DIMM slots that will support up to 64GB of RAM. There will be three PCi-E x16 Gen3 ports, three PCI-E x1 slots, six SATA 6Gbps ports, a M.2 SATA SSD port, GbE LAN, six USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, a single USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, six regular USB 2.0 ports, and various output ports to top things off.
Basically this is more than just about looks. Unfortunately if there is one key thing that MSI left off, it would be the price of the motherboard and its availability. Chances are it won’t be cheap but like we said, if you are building for aesthetics, this could be worth considering.
