Moto G Turbo Edition Officially Unveiled

Several months ago, Motorola took the wraps off the Moto G (2015). The Moto G is one of Motorola’s lower-end offerings and as expected, it came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset. It’s not the most powerful but it gets the job done and then some, not to mention it helps to keep costs down.

However if you were wishing that Motorola would be souped up the Moto G (2015) a bit more, you’re in luck. It turns out that in Mexico, Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto G Turbo Edition. Basically this is the Moto G’s body but the differences are under the hood in which Motorola has given the phone a bit of an upgrade, although given the upgrades it should have been an entirely new phone of its own.

So what kind of specs are we looking at? For starters the 5-inch HD display on the Moto G (2015) will remain. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 410 has been replaced with the Snapdragon 615 and an Adreno 405 GPU. There is also 2GB worth of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 2,470mAh battery which is the same as before.

The phone also packs a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera which once again are specs from the current Moto G. It will also be IP67 certified with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop running the show. As it stands it has been unveiled in Mexico but unfortunately there is no telling if it will make its way stateside or to other markets yet.
