Mercedes-Benz GLS The ‘S Class’ Of SUVs

When it comes to gas guzzling SUVs, there are many different choices to pick from, and you can be sure that with a seemingly bottomless bank account, you are spoilt for choice. If you happen to love all things associated with the three pointed star, then the brand new Mercedes-Benz GLS will certainly capture your attention. This translates to a change in the existing Mercedes-Benz GL-Class name, where the S in it points to the fact that the German automobile manufacturer wants it to be the “S-Class among SUVs.”

There will be different kinds of engine options depending on the trim where the GLS is concerned, where you can leave most of the regular road users eating dust with its powerful AMG engine to an efficient diesel make. The economy option would be the GLS350d that runs on a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that churns out 255 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. For those who settle for the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 gas engine GLS450, you get 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.

Then there is the big daddy of them all, the Mercedes-AMG GLS63 that has a gas guzzling 5.5-liter V8 engine that sports 577 horses underneath the hood, being mated to a seven-speed automatic.
