Samsung has already released a couple of handsets powered by Tizen, no wonder Tizen has surpassed BlackBerry as the fourth largest mobile operating system, but the handsets haven’t been released in all markets and have not been flagships. That’s because the company has focused these efforts on emerging markets where demand for cheaper handsets is greater. However according to a new report a high-end Samsung Tizen smartphone is in the pipeline and it will arrive next year.
Not much is known about this handset right now, the report from Vietnam only claims that Samsung has such a handset in the pipeline right now, and that it’s going to launch it to further expand the presence of Tizen in the global smartphone market.
Details about the handset’s features and specifications are not yet available but if it really is destined to come out next year then we might hear more about it in the near future. What we do know for sure is that it will run Tizen, an operating system that Samsung has been developing, and that it’s coming along quite nicely.
If Samsung does make this smartphone it will be the first flagship Tizen device with high-end specifications that could make it worthy of competing against other flagships in the market. It remains to be seen though if specs alone are able to convince buyers to opt for Tizen, which is a relatively new platform.
