A report from last month revealed that according to the BlizzCon 2015 schedule (which was promptly taken down after it was posted), we could be looking forward to a new Hearthstone expansion. Turns out the speculation was right because Blizzard has officially announced the game’s latest expansion in the form of The League of Explorers.
The expansion (technically it’s considered as an “adventure”) makes it the fifth release, with the previous expansion The Grand Tournament having been released back in August. So what is the League of Explorers? Basically it sounds like an expansion that is themed around the Archaeology profession in World of Warcraft.
According to the description, “Join the League of Explorers and embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Explore Azeroth’s most mysterious archaeological sites and discover ancient treasures! Travel alongside famous treasure hunter Brann Bronzebeard and his merry band of intrepid action-archeologists on a race to uncover the pieces of the Staff of Origination, a priceless, ancient artifact.”
As expected the game will introduce a bunch of new cards and 4 wings where players can battle against bosses. There will also be a Legendary card up for grabs if you manage to beat all the bosses. There will be new class challenges, new game boards, heroic mode, and there is a new feature called “keyword” that lets players dig up cards.
As for availability, gamers won’t have to wait too long because the expansion has been set for a release on the 12th of November which is next Thursday.
