Hearthstone is a game from Blizzard that pits one player against the other in a battle of cards. There are moments when you can fight against the computer, like in certain expansions where you can fight bosses to win new cards. However if you’ve always wanted to play Hearthstone in co-op mode, here’s your chance, sort of.
Blizzard has announced that in their latest Tavern Brawl event, they will be introducing a co-op mode to the game. This will see players team up with friends against Mechazod. According to Blizzard’s description, “Combine forces to defeat Gearmaster Mechazod. You’ll each be piloting a pre-built deck assembled to give both you and your partner on the other side of the board a chance to take out the technological terror.”
Each player will take their turn dealing damage and casting spells like they normally would in a Hearthstone game. However instead of fighting each other, players will be attempting to take down the boss which has 95 health points. The boss will deal 2 damage at a time, but if he were to kill either player, the game is over.
Like we said the catch is that co-op mode will only be for the Tavern Brawl feature of the game. There’s no telling if Blizzard will ever take the co-op feature beyond this particular instance, but who knows, if all goes well perhaps we could see Blizzard introduce co-op on a wider scale in Hearthstone.
