There are several headphone companies out there that offer custom-made earphones. However these headphones do not come cheap namely because they won’t be mass produce as they are only designed for your ears. The process is also not particularly convenient either as sometimes you will need to go to their offices to get fitted.
However if you want a pair of headphones that are custom-fitted for your ears without having to spend a small fortune, then the Revols are a pair of headphones on Kickstarter that you might want to pledge your support to. These headphones are priced at $300 (RRP, Kickstarter backers can get them cheaper) and the best part is that they will be custom-fitted for you in minutes.
How does this work, you ask? Pretty simple actually. The headphones out of the box come with pretty big rubber tips, which are soft to the touch and pliable. You then insert them into your ears and when you’re good to go, pair the headphones with its accompanying app, press a button, and an electrical signal will be sent to the headphones in which the rubber will then harden.
This essentially molds the rubber pieces according to the shape of your ear. Pretty cool, huh? The headphones will also feature drivers made by Japanese audio company Onkyo, and will also be wireless. Its creators are boasting 8 hours of battery life, although battery life can be extended via a clip-on battery pack.
