Those are very impressive figures and we expect that if Samsung can keep up, they will be selling a fair number of Gear S2 units in China, and combine that with the rest of the units they are selling and will sell in other markets around the world, Samsung might have a hit wearable on their hands (pun intended).
This also corroborates an earlier report from last month in which it was claimed that the Gear S2 has been selling twice as many units as its predecessor. It has been estimated that over in South Korea, Samsung has been selling as many as 2,000 units per day. Granted this isn’t the 180,000 units in 8 hours over in China, but we reckon the difference in population sizes probably has something to do with it.
What makes it even more interesting is that the Gear S2 runs on Tizen. This goes to show that as far as wearables are concerned, there is no clear leader in terms of preferred platform as devices that run Android Wear aren’t selling as well as the rest.
