We have heard the rumors that Samsung is planning a successor to the Galaxy A7 and now thanks to AnTuTu benchmarks, it looks like specs of the phone might have been revealed. According to the benchmarks, the upcoming handset will be powered by Samsung’s very own Exynos 7580 chipset.
This goes against an earlier rumor in which it was suggested that the phone will be powered by Qualcmm’s Snapdragon 615. However apart from the difference in chipset, it looks like the rest of the phone’s specs will remain the same as what we had heard. This includes a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP rear-facing camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera.
For those unfamiliar, the original Galaxy A7 was launched earlier this year. The handset came with a 5.5-inch HD display and 2GB of RAM, so it looks like if the AnTuTu benchmarks are any accurate, the phone will be receiving a bit of an upgrade. Unfortunately what we do not know is when the phone will be officially launched.
However given that the Galaxy A7 was announced earlier this year in January, we wouldn’t be surprised if its successor was launched at a similar time in 2016, especially when you consider that early January is also when CES 2016 will be kicking off, so do check back with us in the coming weeks/months for updates.
