Fujifilm X-T2 Rumored For June 2016 Announcement

fujifilm_x-t1_02If you’re looking for a mirrorless camera, there are many to choose from. However given how much advertising Sony has done, other brands with a smaller advertising budget might have taken a backseat, like the Fujifilm X-T1 which many consider to be one of the better mirrorless cameras available right now.

The camera was officially announced last year and if you’re wondering when we might be able to expect a successor, it seems that we still have a bit of waiting to do. According to a report from Fuji Rumors, they claim to have heard from their source that the Fujifilm X-T2 will most likely be announced in June 2016, and that its release will probably be in the summer as well.

This contradicts an earlier rumor in which it was suggested that the X-T2 might be announced after the X-Pro2 later this year, but as we approach the end of the year, that seems to be an unlikely scenario. As far as specs are concerned, not much is known right now but according to the rumors, 4K video support is one of the camera’s features.

It is also said to be capable of 1080p @ 120fps video capture, improved continuous autofocus, and will have 10fps continuous shooting. Take it all with a grain of salt for now, but given that the X-T1 is more than a year old, a successor is no doubt imminent so if you are looking for a new mirrorless camera, maybe you might want to hold off first, or you could opt for the cheaper X-T10.
