In September 2004 Samsung announced that it had achieved more than $100 million in monthly sales for the first time in North America, by October 2007 this number had climbed to $500 million. It has taken the company over eight years to double that as today it announced that its TV sales have crossed more than $1 billion in North America for the very first time in October.
This is now Samsung’s new record for monthly sales in North America. Samsung’s increased focus on marketing has played a big part in achieving this milestone. It helps that Samsung Entertainment Experience areas are now in more than 600 Best Buy locations where customers can go and experience Samsung products. It has even installed a Brand Wall made out of Samsung TV screens in nearly 2,600 Walmart locations.
It also helps that Samsung has received two customer satisfaction awards in the annual J.D. Power 2015 High-Definition Television (HDTV) Satisfaction Report. Samsung came out as the highest ranking company in both the under 50 inch and above 50 inch categories of HDTVs.
Yoon Lee, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said “Samsung Electronics attaining over $1 billion in monthly sales in North America shows that the Samsung has now become the most trusted and representative TV brand,”
According to the NPD Group Samsung now accounts for 35.1 percent of all TV sales in the United States and for 28.4 percent of all sales in Canada, which makes it the leading TV vendor in the entire region of North America.
