It would be an understatement to say that there was interest in Fallout 4. Millions of people have been anxiously waiting for this title to arrive and it’s no surprise that it had a record breaking launch for Bethesda. While Bethesda itself has indulged in the numbers game to show just how good a start Fallout 4 has made, there are numbers from a media analytics company which show that digital sales of Fallout 4 crossed $100 million in the first three days alone.
The day after Fallout 4 was released Bethesda sent out a statement claiming that it had shipped 12 million copies of Fallout 4 on launch day, that’s shipped and not sold to end customers just to be clear, and that it had brought in more than $750 million in shipment sales as yet.
Impressive numbers for sure, but what about digital downloads, since they are the preferred method of getting a new game for countless players across the globe.
SuperData, the aforementioned media marketing analytics company, has reported that after its first three days following launch Fallout 4 sold 1.87 million copies digitally. The report also mentioned that out of the 1.87 million digital sales 1.2 million were generated on PCs via Steam with the rest coming from PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
This the estimated three-day figures for digital downloads of Fallout 4 alone comes at over $100 million, not too shabby, and considering how much popularity Fallout 4 has it’s going to set the bar even higher in a few weeks from now.
