There are many platforms and channels in which we can buy our games. We can buy it and download it directly from the developer/publisher, go to a physical retail store and pick up a copy of the game, or we can turn to digital platforms like Steam. Now Steam is one of the more popular options around and we can see why.
According to the latest data from Steam Spy (via MCV UK), it looks like Bethesda’s Fallout 4 is quite a hit on Steam as it has reportedly managed to sell 2 million copies just on Steam’s platform alone. That is a very impressive figure especially when you consider that in one day, Bethesda managed to ship 12 million copies of the game.
It has also been reported that Fallout 4 managed to bring in $100 million for the company in the first 3 days of it going live, with 1.87 million copies being sold digitally. Back then it was reported that 1.2 million of those digital sales were credited to Steam, and now it looks like that number has managed to rise an additional massive 800,000 in a few days’ time.
As the holiday season approaches, we can only imagine that Bethesda will sell even more copies especially since people will buying the game for friends/family who want it as a present. In the meantime current gamers can look forward to an upcoming patch that should be released later this week.
