Not much is known about the Nintendo NX console at the moment. There has been all kinds of speculation about the console, such as it will be a disc-less console, or that it will rely on virtual reality technology. All we know is that for sure, Nintendo will not be announcing the console this year.
That being said despite all of its rumored features, just like mobile devices, an ecosystem for consoles is just as important. After all there are only so many first-party titles Nintendo can put out before gamers start asking for more, right? The good news is that EA has not ruled out the possibility of creating games for the Nintendo NX.
During the company’s recent earnings presentation, EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson was asked if they would bring titles like Battlefield or FIFA onto the Nintendo NX, to which Wilson stated that this is an opportunity that the company will be evaluating. This is not a confirmation that they will since it would also largely depend on whether the NX will be able to support such games, but it is not a flat-out no either.
According to Wilson, “As it relates to Nintendo, we’ve had a tremendous relationship with them over the years, and we will evaluate any and all opportunities with them in the same way we do all platform opportunities.” Last we heard, the NX console would be a device that could surprise everyone, so safe to say it’s one that we’re looking forward to.
