Last month Microsoft officially announced two flagship Lumia handsets that many of its fans were waiting for, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, it was confirmed back then that initially the handset will be exclusive to AT&T in the United States. However both the company and carrier didn’t confirm when it will arrive, now AT&T has confirmed the release date for Lumia 950.
It was actually reported last week that AT&T is going to launch Lumia 950 on its network come November 20th, that’s next Friday, and it made sense because for starters AT&T had said that it would release the handset in November.
AT&T confirms today that pre-orders for Lumia 950 can be made starting tomorrow with orders arriving November 20th, that’s also the day its retail stores have the phone in stock, enabling people across the country to just walk into an AT&T store and walk out with a Lumia 950.
Lumia 950 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 with 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage with microSD expansion support, a removable 3,000mAh battery, 20 megapixel rear PureView ZEISS camera and a 5.2 inch Quad HD OLED display. It’s also the first smartphone from Microsoft that’s powered by Windows 10 straight out of the box.
The handset can be purchased from AT&T in Matte Black or Matte White for $0 down on the carrier’s Next 24, 18 and 12 plans which commit customers to equal monthly installments of $19.97 for 30, $24.96 for 24 and $29.95 for 20 months respectively. It’s also available with a two year contract for $149.99 upfront.
